Shared knowledge in the records of public documents in Europe become personal knowledge as Stephen Fry explores the fate of his Jewish relatives. He also muses on his public image as he's often described as  'quintessentially English'. Areas of knowledge include history, human sciences and personal identity. In it's own way this programme helps us understand the terrible horror of the holocaust as it swept Jewish families from the homes in Nazi states.
