Mad World - Gary Jules - 2001 - (Donnie Darko)

  1. Though Mad World has always been one of my favorite songs, I didn't realize how perfectly it captures the post-modernist movement till I just saw it now!
The line "worn out places" also subtly seems to allude to the world being tired after the world wars.
I found the expressionless, black&white image of the singer very provoking too, and thought the music perfectly complemented the lyrics.

I really enjoyed the post, as it conveyed how music (art) and words (language) when used to together, enhance each other's impact beautifully.
