  1. This video was really interesting since the theoretical scientist, Michio Kaku, who stated that he had proof for the existence of God, developed his claims using his prior knowledge (experience and coherence) of the Supersymmetry Theory. It also raised a very important knowledge question : To what extent can the Areas of Knowledge be used for developing a formula or an equation for finding out whether God actually exists? This video changed my entire perspective of viewing the scenario since I would never have imagined connecting Mathematics or Physics with something so extreme like God.

  2. This video presents an interesting claim. Professor Kaku claims that advances in the overlapping worlds of math and physics have actually brought us closer to finding definitive proof that God exists, rather than rejecting the idea of God. Traditionally, the areas of knowledge of math and science are not closely linked with the search for God since they rely more on certainty than faith and belief. However, this video suggests that science has evolved to the extent that scientists believe they are close to ‘unifying all the forces of nature’ and thus understanding God.

  3. This video puts forth an extremely interesting theory that could possibly revolutionise the way in which we perceive God or the knowledge that is ubiquitous in nature. The idea of putting all the things around us, all the phenomenons that occur into an equation is like summarising God's mind physicists aim to do through their their theories and equations. However, it is mathematics that helps build theories and equations and thus calling God a 'mathematician'. The combination of science with mathematics is what helps in providing definite evidence of God's existence. This video has changed my perspective of God and made me believe that the combination of science and mathematics can prove the existence of God, which was only considered to be true through our faith and belief.

  4. This is a very convincing argument for the existence of Gods because it utilises subjects we learn everyday, the areas of knowledges of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and how knowledge gained in both of these subjects over the years has developed our understanding of the universe. Furthermore, the way the differing perspectives of the mathematicians and the physicians is contrasted is also interesting to see. Using only the way of knowing of reason, Proffesor Kaku explains and claims that God is a mathematician.

  5. After watching this video, I had a few thoughts.
Firstly, what do we define as "God"? I think that the definition of "God", may not necessarily be a figure who is the creator and the Almighty and has abilities which humans can only dream of. The definition of "God" according to this video, is the force that must be given credit for the creation of this universe, and not necessarily a "being" as such.
Secondly, it is interesting to note how the debate, about whether mathematics as an AOK is something that man has created by interpreting the universe or has discovered by exploring the universe, comes up through the video. In this video, using language as a WOK, I have gained the knowledge that Michio Kaku, believes that man has created Mathematics (example: Calculus by Newton) as well as discovered Mathematics (mathematical nature of the universe).
Thirdly, it is important to note how Michio Kaku wants a "one-inch equation" to explain the super symmetry of the higher dimensional universe, which shows the importance of making the most complex things understandable by all. This raises the knowledge question: Can one claim "to know something", even though one cannot share that knowledge with everyone?
Fourthly, I really liked how Michio Kaku described the beautiful partnership and interconnectedness between the AOKs Mathematics and Physics (Natural Sciences). This also raises the KQs: Is it possible to clearly determine whether a particular piece of knowledge lies in one AOK or another? and To what extent should knowledge be categorised?
Fifthly, does the nature of the Universe or theories about the Universe serve as enough proof for God's existence? This once again brings me back to what the term "God" exactly means. Does the mathematical nature of the universe prove God's existence? If yes, then is "God" defined as the phenomenon of the Universe behaving in a mathematical way? If no, is Michio Kaku developing his argument with the help of Faith as a WOK?

This video raises too many questions, which may or may not have answers. Therefore, is knowledge that which can be questioned, or that which cannot?

Please feel free to share your views on the questions that I have raised above.

  6. I agree with Yash. The beauty of this video shows a distinct relationship between different areas of knowledge, mathematics, natural sciences and religious studies. Excluding the perspective of only using faith to believe in god, and instead using reason proposes an interesting knowledge question or claim that faith is the only way of knowing to be certain that God exists, I wonder if any other AOK can be used here.

  7. I understand what Yash means about questioning the nature of God. The mathematical and physical theory for the existence of God as suggested by Michio Kaku refers to a universal purpose as God. However, the scientific perspective definitely does not account for God with regard to religious knowledge. This asks the question whether the mathematical answers 'created' and/or 'discovered' by the human race are simply rearranged by Professor Kaku to encompass his idea of God whereas, in reality, the order and pattern that physicists search for in the universe has no greater meaning. Then God itself is an invention of mankind, created to suit his own needs and wants.

Another interesting thing about the video is about the unifying equation to explain the laws of the universe. Physics as a discipline seeks to simplify and explain the knowledge around us. However, is it really possible to explain all natural phenomenon in the universe through a simple equation? To what extent would such a universal law lead to compromises and oversimplification in the knowledge of nature? Also, it is fascinating to think of how one equation could explain the eleven dimensions mentioned by Michio Kaku.

  8. This video displays important areas of knowledge such as mathematics, religious studies and natural sciences. Professor Kaku leads us to an interesting claim that the conjoined forces math and physics has led them to proof the existence of God. Faith and emotion, usually, seem like credible factors when it comes to questioning the existence of God. But here, there is a different alternative used to find the definitive proof that God exists. People tend to believe anything that is proofed by using math and physics. It was interesting to hear about the equation to explain the laws of the universe. Professor Kako says the need to 'find an equation to unify all forces of nature to read the mind of God'. Many aspects of this video fascinate me like questioning whether Mathematics was created by us or discovered by us. I enjoyed this video as it focused on many areas of knowledge as well as produced a parallel to usually referencing the existence of God by using faith and emotion.

  9. This video depicts key areas of knowledge such as maths, natural science and religious studies. the mathematical and physical theory account for the purpose of god, however the religious studies serves as a counter claim for the same. according to me god is an identity created by mankind to suit its purpose. god is said to be a universal figure and an identity humans can rely on and blame him/her for its own tragedies. Michio Kaku has used the overlapping mathematical and physical theory to show definite proof for the existence of god as well

  10. Michio Kaku successfully explores the co-relation between Maths and Physics in this video and the way these co-relations open up unknown areas of research and development interests me a lot. The way these infinite areas come up to answer the existence of "God" is convincing. However this video developed certain questions "Can we use sciences to answer religion?" We can make a claim that if we use a certain area of knowledge say "Mathematics" to identify and explore areas in sciences to answer the existence of God, then there will be a smaller appeal to people as not everyone will believe. However another claim can be made that if we use peoples faith to make them believe in a religion then there will be a larger appeal to people. This is what has been going on when we see religion in the world as a whole. They preach the same thing but its their ways of preaching that creates the impactful difference- (Manav Shah)
